Tiny bj5/12/2023 ![]() ![]() It will likely take you 6 months or more to set up your Tiny Habits if you apply his Tiny Habits method to doing so. ![]() Even the most incompetent, lazy & weak willed human can declare victory. ![]() IMHO, it's the promotion of "wimp culture".Įmbarrassingly low standards will get you started, and you CAN claim 100% success on the smallest imaginable tasks. He also advocates LCD ( Lowest Common Denominator ) goals & standards so low that it's easy to claim victory when you define it in terms of flossing one tooth A DAY or doing one push-up A DAY. He repeatedly says "it's not your fault" yet nobody forces me to eat the sausage McMuffin with Egg breakfasts I love. The spike through the Tiny Habits' heart is in the complete abdication of personal responsibility for one's own behavior. He believes he's found the Holy Grail of behavioral transformation by making it nanoscopic & effortless, I've found solutions based on most of the same science, but around maximum sustainable daily effort & responsibility. Fogg & I approach them from opposite poles. The rest of this review will be downhill:-? I use many of the same strategies with clients and students to get them to ACT & change their lives but B.J. It's also a powerful method to get started or maintain a habit you're struggling with & haven't yet succeeded at any other way. Read this book specifically for the behavioral design strategies. ![]()
